Vin,

Mary Ellen's jello recipe...red jello (1-2 boxes, depending on how much you want to make wink)...chill for about 30 minutes then add red seedless grapes (cut in half), English walnut halves, and sliced bananas.  I asked her for the recipe years ago, as it is a must have in our house every Thanksgiving that  we aren't able to come to Indiana. Enjoy!! smile

Nolan,

That's awesome!! smile

Nolan says...

I recieved an email from a guy I used to work with that I thought I would share:

Is your uncle that is the LSU superfan the same uncle that is a runner? If so, is it possible that he participated in the Turkey Trot in Huntington on Thanksgiving day? I saw a guy there that could have been your dad’s brother (based on my memory of seeing your dad twice eight years ago) who had on an LSU stocking cap and sweatshirt and sweatpants that said “Geaux Tigers.” It seemed liked there was a 75% chance this was your uncle.

Congratulations! Saw on TV that Rochester,MN had a 15#+ baby boy born on Thanksgiving! Congratulate daddy Andrew. We thought his nickname was cute too! "Butterball" how appropriate! Love you and we'll miss you at Christmas.

Record year for Turkey Trot 5K

Husband and wife team win

Updated: Thursday, 26 Nov 2009, 11:02 AM EST

Published : Thursday, 26 Nov 2009, 11:02 AM EST

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - The annual Turkey Trot 5K race in Huntington brought out record numbers Thursday. The 2009 race had 344 participants. Last year's race saw 225 runners and walkers, a sign the event is picking up steam.

The Turkey Trot is in its fifth year. Money raised from participants entry fees goes to the Pathfinder Kids Scholarship Fund. McDonald's is a sponsor of the event, and appropriately, Ronald McDonald showed up for the race.

The early morning hours saw temperatures in the mid-thirties, making it a cold morning for runners.

A husband and wife team won the men and women overall races, respectively. Nicholas and Lauren Johnson were the winners. Nicholas crossed the finish line in 15 minutes and 40 seconds. His wife, Lauren, finished the race in 18 minutes and 50 seconds. This is the third year in a row Nicholas Johnson has won the Turkey Trot 5K.

Devin was nice enough to let me use his bike yesterday.  Thank you Devin.  My legs are slightly too short for the bike, and so today....MY BUTT HURTS!!!  The bike is a "racer" style.  Amber took one look at the seat and said "that is not a seat, that is a thong!"  Now I know, she was right!!

Well, Amber is here visiting from Tampa and I was finally able to get her out on the trail.  It was a sunny 59 degrees.  Rather warm, considering it is nearly Thanksgiving, but rather cold by Floridian standards.  Amber thought that she would maybe go a mile or two.  She actually completed fourteen miles and loved every minute of it!!  Vince escorted us and had us in stitches the whole way.  Now, she has me looking for a bike for her for xmas!!  Thanks Vince~  smile
